Forging industry partnerships, empowering livestock producers
EPIC Scotland’s research is aligned with the priorities of the Scottish livestock industry and veterinarian community. This localized approach ensures that EPIC's research findings and recommendations are tailored to the priorities that define the region and are relevant to the challenges and opportunities within Scotland's agricultural sector. Bridging the gap between the scientific community and the practical needs of the stakeholders, EPIC has an impact on the well-being of both animals and those who depend on them.
EPIC Scotland serves the industry in several ways:
  • Research briefs provide concise overviews of key findings, readily available for industry professionals.
  • Bovine Viral Diarrhea (BVD) monthly reports address a specific disease challenge equipping the industry with the most up-to-date information.
  • Avian Influenza blogs provide updates on disease patterns and management strategies implemented by the Scottish Government, as well as information regarding the best measures to prevent diseases from entering farms.
EPIC is dedicated to research and preparedness for specific diseases that affect cattle, sheep, pigs, and poultry. EPIC occasionally works with horses, camelids and with a wide range of wildlife species, such as deer, badgers and wild birds.
