Tarek’s research has focused on the application of economic theory and analysis to problems of agricultural, environmental, and natural resource management; in particular, biosecurity, climate change mitigation, and water quality management. He has developed economic simulation models that assess the effects of proposed interventions to inform policy development. Tarek has worked extensively with government and non-government stakeholders in the EU, Southeast Asia, and New Zealand. He holds a PhD degree from Wageningen University, the Netherlands.
