Irmelin Helgesen

I am an applied economist with an interest in natural resource economics. So far, my research has focused on fisheries economics. Specifically, the bioeconomic modelling of fisheries, quota management regimes and empirical analyses of weather conditions and fuel efficiency in the Norwegian fishing fleet.

My current work with EPIC focuses on the economic welfare effects of prevention and control of animal disease, such as Avian Influenza and African Swine Fever.

I am currently a PhD student at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology, expected to complete in the autumn of 2020.
