Staying ahead of disease - a biosecurity workshop for the pig industry

Moray PRRS Pilot Project

Lochter Activity Centre, Oldmeldrum at 3pm, finishing at 5.30pm with supper and discussions.

This event is organised by the Moray PRRS Pilot Project, an industry-led collaboration, with KTIF funding from The Scottish Government. Bring together producers, processors, hauliers, feed suppliers and breeding companies, to exchange perspectives and learn about what role we can all play in preventing disease spread and protecting our stock.

  • hear compelling research on how haulage can impact on disease spread
  • have your say on how we can make vehicle biosecurity practical
  • be part of a movement for responsible transport, to protect our pig industry.

Swine dysentery recently reminded us how quickly infectious disease can spread through the Scottish pig herd. The threat of African swine fever - a virus which could decimate our pig industry - is edging closer. In the meantime, moves are afoot towards eliminating PRRS virus. Never has it been more important for the pig industry to stay ahead of disease.
