Market & transportation cleansing and disinfecting practices questionnaire

----- UPDATE Survey closing 26th July 2020 ----

Are you a farmer or livestock haulage driver? If so, we would like to hear your thoughts on biosecurity in the transportation of cattle and sheep?

Why: Poor livestock transport cleansing & disinfecting (C&D) can have disastrous consequences when it comes to disease transmission. However, carrying out adequate biosecurity practices on the farm or at the mart can be challenging.

Who: We would like to hear from sheep and cattle keepers both farmers and crofters, and commercial livestock haulier drivers and owners are needed.

What: The anonymous survey takes around 10 minutes to complete asking straight forward questions about your experiences around biosecurity and livestock transportation. Do markets provide adequate washing facilities for effective biosecurity? How much time do you have to wash your vehicle?

Benefits: The results of the anonymous survey will help researchers working with Scottish Government and EPIC (Scottish Centre of Expertise on Animal Disease Outbreaks) improve practical advice for sheep & cattle keepers, marts and livestock hauliers to help reduce risk of disease spread and make us more equipped to deal with when a potential threat when it arises.

Please share your thoughts and insights by completing our short questionnaire.
